The tiers
Hourly, with any tutor. One to one, or in twos and threes where the students are genuinely close in level — we would rather not run a group than run a bad one.
Every session runs to the same shape whoever is teaching, and every session ends with a short written note to you. Neither of those is an extra. It is simply how we teach.

Director of Specialist Practice rates are for Kevin Li, who teaches Mathematics and Science up to Year 11, and Economics and SAT preparation up to Year 13. Head Tutor rates are for Franco Ngai — English, Humanities, ESL and entrance exams.
Small-group sessions (pairs and threes) are also available at a reduced per-student rate. Pairs cost each student about two-thirds of the one-to-one rate; groups of three, about half. To ask about group pricing, WhatsApp us.
No packages to buy up front, no registration fee and no minimum commitment. Tutoring is invoiced monthly in arrears for the sessions actually taught. Rates are reviewed annually, and existing families are given a full term’s notice of any change.

It starts with a learning profile: one page on how this student learns — not their grades, but the mechanics. How quickly they grasp something new. Whether there is a gap between what they can explain out loud and what reaches the page. What visibly helps, and what quietly makes things worse. It ends with three goals for the term, each specific enough that in twelve weeks it will be obvious whether they were met.
From there: a written progress summary each month, and a documented review every term with the profile rewritten. Every version is kept, so a year in you can see not just where your child is, but how they have changed. You also get access to the StepUp Portal, where the profile, the goals and the session notes live in one place.
HK$1,500 to start, then HK$700 / month — on top of tutoring at the usual hourly rate. Charged monthly in advance, and you can stop any time.
For students with a diagnosis, an assessment report, or a difficulty that good teaching is not shifting.
Kevin reads the report, designs the scaffolding, briefs the tutor who teaches and reviews progress against it. Your child’s tutor teaches the same lesson, better briefed, at exactly the same hourly rate — what you are paying for is the design behind it.

With an MA in Special Education and three years teaching in the special education department of a New York public high school, he takes responsibility for the whole picture.

What it costs. STEP is a monthly retainer, and it begins with a paid discovery conversation and a four-week assessment before anyone commits to anything ongoing. We’ll give you both figures early and in writing — but not before we’ve worked out whether STEP is the right thing for your family, because for most families it isn’t. Sessions with Kevin are charged separately at his hourly rate, on top of the retainer.
We take a small number of these families at a time, because it only works if Kevin genuinely holds the whole picture.

For students who learn differently
Whether your child is neurodivergent, has a diagnosed special educational need, or simply learns differently, the design of their support comes from Kevin Li — an MA in Special Education, and three years teaching in the special education department of a New York public high school.
He reads the assessment report where there is one, builds the scaffolding and accommodations around your child’s profile, and either briefs the tutor who teaches them or teaches them himself. Our other tutors are excellent subject teachers working to a standard he sets — we are precise about that distinction.
If your child has had an educational psychologist’s assessment, bring it. Kevin will read it with you, free — half an hour on what it actually means for how they should be taught, whether or not you decide to work with us.
Almost every family starts with tutoring, and most happily stay there. If a tutor thinks Plus or STEP would genuinely help your child, they will tell you and explain why — you never have to work it out on your own. And if you have questions before you begin, just start a conversation.
